About MeI grew up in the suburbs of New York and Chicago. I always enjoyed the natural world, spending much time in the limited natural areas available to me. When I was a child, I used to dig clay out of the creek, gather wildflower seeds, and think about sustainable ways to live. None of this came to much, as I was in the wrong environment for such things. I attended 3 different colleges for my undergraduate degree, just restless I guess. The third one was an ag school, Texas Tech University. I was majoring in Spanish, and chose Environmental Studies for my minor. It was there that I discovered careers in the great outdoors. Excited and thrilled with my new discovery, I headed off to Sul Ross State University and completed a MS in Range and Wildlife Management. The Big Bend of Texas is totally awesome! I worked as a wildlife biologist for a while, and then took 3 years off when my son was born. My focus now is to spread the word about organic gardening and sustainable living . The time for change is now. Human beings are so ingenious, just look to our ancestors, how can we not continue on this earth? We can live sustainably and not lose an ounce of quality of life. In fact, our quality of life will improve a hundred fold. I created this site for those who want to make the change but think it's to hard, or they don't have enough time, or they don't have a green thumb. Just take the first step. I have raised beds, but I still want solar panels, and electric car, and a rain water catchment system. It will come. One step at a time.
